I'm Sarah Jane Schmidt, an astronomer currently working as the Karl Schwarzschild Postdoctoral Fellow at the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics - Potsdam (AIP). I am an observational astronomer working on the smallest stars and warmest brown dwarfs. Much of my work focuses on understanding how magnetic fields interact with the atmospheres of these ultracool dwarfs. My other projects tend to involve using astronomical survey data, especially from SDSS, to understand ultracool dwarfs as a population. Learn more about my research by clicking around above!
